WHAT IS AESTHETIC MESOTHERAPY?

The pharmaceutical effect of the solution or a specific cocktail of active substances on the skin
Micro-doses of the solution activate more of the receptors in the skin
*Physical stimulation from the needle ensures greater diffusion, which results in a longer-lasting effect by using smaller quantities of substances in the right place.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The patient is treated with drugs diluted in physiological solution and injected into the intradermal area through single injectors.

Usually, to obtain satisfactory results, 5-12 sessions of mesotherapy could be required.

Mesotherapy can be supported by other therapies, such as laser and chemical peels, and can be added to any skin treatment.

Here at Smart Skin Expert Skin & Laser Clinic, we will advise our customers on the best support routine to assist the efficacy of mesotherapy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Are there any particular recommendations?

After the intradermal therapy session, avoid applying massages, pressotherapy, ultrasound and hair removal techniques to the treated areas for at least 24 hours.

Avoid applying creams or other aids unless after consulting our specialist who performed the treatment.

After the session and for a few days, do not expose yourself to the sun and UVA rays to avoid spots corresponding to the micro-lesions produced by the needle.

It is good to know that the repair of these micro-lessons involves a slight inflammation that increases the skin’s sensitivity to solar radiation with an increase in pigmentation.

Q. How are the results maintained?

The maintenance of the results achieved with more sessions according to a therapeutic protocol .

  • a maintenance phase: monthly or more spaced sessions.

Q. How is District Intradermotherapy practised?

The drug is injected into the skin dermis. The injections are performed using thin and very short needles (4-6 mm).

Small quantities of the drug are divided into several micro-injections: intradermal administration slows down the diffusion of the drug by achieving results , with minimal doses.

Q. Is Mesotherapy Painful?

The perception of pain is different according to the affected skin regions, and it also depends on the individual sensitivity. However, it is a generally well-tolerated discomfort.

Q. How long does a mesotherapy session last?

Usually, an intradermal therapy session lasts from 5 to 60 minutes, depending on the extent and number of areas to be treated.

Q. Are there any contraindications to mesotherapy?

An absolute contraindication to mesotherapy is the chances of allergy to the drugs to be injected.

It should be borne in mind that allergic reactivity can develop late, after a treatment period, without any manifestation of sensitivity. So be very specific when talking to your specialist.

In the presence of chronic systemic diseases, the practitioner will evaluate the advisability and individual decide weather to go ahead with treatment.

Q. What side effects are known?

The modest volume of drug used for each injection causes a tiny swelling in the dermis, destined to disappear in a few hours.

At the injection sites, transient, minor local reactions may occur due to the microtrauma produced by the needle, as well as the chemical-physical and biochemical activity of the drug:

  • erythema (redness);

  • slight bleeding;

  • bruising or minor bruises;

  • infrequent local infectious complications.

These reactions disappear spontaneously in a few days without leaving any marks on the skin.
