Does tattoo removal hurt?

The amount of pain felt will depend on the type of tattoo, the amount of treatment required and your own pain threshold. Some clients would describe it as no more than uncomfortable, where others will describe it as elastic band flickered against the skin. The truth is that you will only know how painful you find it until you try it your self.

Afterwards:

Your skin may be red with a raised rash for a short while after treatment,

It may slightly bleed or temporary swelling (like after waxing) might be present all is completely normal and will minimise within couple of hours . Holding an ice pack to your skin may help .

Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 30 days before and after and use non less then SPF30 sunscreen daily for the 30 day after treatment.

You should avoid:

  • picking or scratching any scabs that might appear

  • using soap or perfumed products on the area for the first 48 hours

  • strenuous physical activities for a couple of days

  • swimming and saunas until the scab has dropped off (they may slow the healing process)

  • do not touch, pick or scratch the area

  • do not use any anti-inflammatory products for 7 days.

    Possible risks are:

  • some colours not completely fading – yellow, green and purple ink requires more sessions to fade than black, blue and red

  • a small chance your skin may become temporarily darker or paler than the surrounding skin
